Using Electronic Communication for Business Purposes

For today’s business professionals, there are more options than ever for how and even where they get work done, and a person does not necessarily have to sit at a desk and do paperwork or sit in a conference room with other people for a meeting. For modern business professionals, brands such as Cisco Webex and others are available to offer products to connect workers digitally. What is the appeal of having a Cisco Jabber, a chatbot, broadsoft technologies, or a Cisco Webex status in general? If used correctly, a business professional’s Cisco Webex status can allow them to connect to their co-workers, clients, and customers more easily, and one’s Cisco Webex status may dictate when they can communicate with others. What is more, statistics in recent years show that working remotely is not just possible, but highly flexible and productive for many workers. How can a person’s Cisco Webex status allow them to take advantage of such technology?

Working From Afar

While many business employees commute to a physical building and take part in their work at the office space, other workers have developed newer options for getting work done or even attending meetings or talking to clients, managers, and staff. This can have a number of advantages if done correctly. For example, an employee can opt to work at home, and if they do so, this employee is saving time because they are not actually commuting anywhere, and this extra time can instead be devoted to the work itself. Working remotely also has the advantage of removing noise-based distractions at the work place, such as phone conversations, and working at home can reduce an employee’s stress levels and help them make fewer work errors, and this can be a real boon when talking on the phone with business partners or customers. Noise pollution can make phone conversations difficult, and bad customer service often results in a lost customer. Working remotely also allows employees to avoid illness being spread.

Working remotely can also happen when traveling, and many businesses send out their employees to other locations to scout customer bases, attend meetings, or carry out deals or presentations in person. Entire companies are devoted to helping with travel arrangements for clients’ employees, but this can involve more than just a plane flight. A worker can carry out their paperwork on board a private jet, for example, and like a home, this is a low-stress, distraction-free zone where workers can be highly productive. In fact, 38% of hiring managers predict that within the next 10 years, most employees, a majority of them, will be working remotely in such a manner.

Tech for the Job

Paper mail is often too slow for remote workers to submit or receive paperwork from the rest of their co-workers or managers. Instead, modern services for the Internet and related devices can make remote work not just possible, but highly productive and convenient for everyone involved. A worker at home can submit their documents and other files to the company’s private and secure Cloud storage services, and receive files in the same manner. This can also be done for a live chat with someone or attending a conference virtually. Advances in the last few years allow employees and managers to talk to business partners and co-workers not just over the phone, but with live video, and this can be helpful if there is a visual aspect to the work being done. A remote worker can still “attend” a meeting if they use their Cisco Webex status to appear on a laptop, and they can use the laptop’s camera and microphone to see and hear everything happening at the physical meeting. This can also be done one-on-one with two connected people, who may see and hear each other live. This can be helpful if one person presents and explains visual media like a chart or graph to the other. Employees who are traveling or often work at home may use this almost exclusively so that they can stay connected to their co-workers and get their work done correctly. Much of this can be set up with I.T. professionals are hired to install all the needed hardware and teach the employees at the client company how to use it.
