  3. Encryption: Encryption is the process of translating readable data, known as “plaintext,” into indecipherable language known as “ciphertext” in order to mask the content. Ciphertext can be translated back into plaintext using what’s known as an “encryption key.” The two major kinds of encryption programs are symmetric and asymmetric encryption.
